Coffee Recipe of the Month
Affogato
This June we will introduce to you a drink that’s part coffee – part dessert. A coffessert, or a dessoffe? Anyways, this coffee recipe will satisfy both of your cravings.
Affogato literally means drowned and it is precisely so. A shot of espresso is poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a freezer-chilled glass. Espresso is recommended just like the last recipe as it is of a lower temperature and will melt the ice cream slower than other brewed coffee. You would think the hot coffee would melt all of the ice cream but instead it will drip around it and encase the ice cream to make a delightful treat. If you don’t have access to some espresso you can also use other brewed coffee. However you should make sure to chill it in the freezer beforehand so it doesn’t melt the ice cream instantly. Here is how you make it.
What you’ll need
- Chilled glass
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
- a shot of espresso coffee
- 1 piece of chocolate, grated
Preparation
- Place the scoop of ice cream into the chilled glass
- Pour the coffee over the ice cream slowly
- Garnish it with the grated chocolate
Until Next Time!
That concludes this month’s newsletter. Thanks for reading and take care!
