Hello coffee lovers! It’s iced coffee season! We hope you are all doing well and enjoying coffee as always! It’s the last month of spring and we’re starting to feel warmer and starting to go out more but keep being careful and follow the health guidelines, we don’t need more outbreaks to ruin our summer! However we do want to enjoy our favorite summer drink, iced coffee! We’ve got a recipe for you.
Sigma Coffee is the next roaster to join our platform, yay! This roastery was founded by its current owner after his years of experience in the coffee business in India. He decided to come back to Switzerland to promote Indian coffee. Sigma’s coffee is all shade-grown coffee, so we are excited to try it out!
In other CHD news we are excited to announce that we will be starting our blog page, at long last! To complement this launch we will also create separate pages for our newsletters and coffee recipes and implement some navigation to make it as easy as possible to look through our articles.
Our blog will feature interviews, opinion pieces, informative posts and some fun trivia articles as well. Hope you guys are as excited as we are and we hope you gain some valuable insights from what we learn and write over time about the world of specialty coffee.
Fairtrade and direct trade badges
Another feature that was requested and rightly so is a system to show customers whether a product is fair trade or direct trade and we are currently working on a few ideas to make this happen. Many of our roasters in fact practice direct trade to source their green beans so it would be a shame for our customers to not be aware of this.
Coffee Recipe of the Month
Well the weather’s getting warmer with summer just around the corner, so for this month’s recipe we’re gonna show you how to make a delicious and refreshing iced coffee. If you have an espresso maker at home we recommend using it for this one as it cools faster on the ice. If not you should brew your coffee ahead of time and chill it in the fridge for about an hour or two.
What you’ll need
- Espresso coffee (can be brewed as well)
- Ice cubes
- Syrup of your choice
- Milk or non-dairy alternative
- Brew your coffee
- Fill a glass with ice and pour the coffee in next
- Mix in 1 or 2 tablespoons of syrup according to taste and as much milk as you wish
Until Next Time!
That concludes this month’s newsletter. Thanks for reading and take care!
