Africa, this wonderful continent, is the source of many things. Not only the aromatic Arabica coffees (Ethiopia) but also the stronger Robusta coffees (Uganda) come from here.
In creating the Black Power mixture, two thoughts guided me; On one hand, I wanted to harmoniously combine the very different best-in-class African coffee, which are wonderfully rich in aroma and taste, and on the other hand, for it to be a strong mixture that should be considered as direct competition to the Italian Blend!
As a specialist in single-variety Arabica gourmet coffees, for a long time Robustas did not particularly interest me, as they are generally rather one-dimensional in taste. Robustas also offer wonderful gourmet variations. And last time during a tasting of new coffees I discovered a truly interesting Robusta from Uganda. Now, that variety makes up the soul of this espresso blend.
